Anne Shopp LMFT CACII - Individual, Couples and Family Therapy

Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my website. Looking for a therapist takes courage and can be challenging, but my goal is to help you through your healing journey.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Art Therapist and Addiction Counselor with over twenty-five years of experience. I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology and a Masters in Family and Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University.

I approach therapy with an interactive style that is based around Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Through CBT, the impact of one's thoughts are examined to create solution oriented goals throughout the healing journey. On a continual basis, I ask clients what their goals look like, and I help clients focus on their thoughts, feelings and actions to effectively succeed in their goals. Additionally, I approach therapy by teaching mindfulness, creative processes, and stress reduction. I not only ask questions, but I motivate and encourage individuals to do things differently in order to successfully change themselves.

My experience includes providing treatment in in-patient psychiatric, sub acute psychiatric  and residential treatment facilities.

My areas of expertise with treating individuals includes: depression, anxiety,  grief and loss, trauma, PTSD, and addiction. My areas of expertise treating couples and families includes: communication skills, reconnecting, infidelity, parenting, step-parenting, conflict resolution, pre-marital counseling, marital counseling, family counseling, and divorce counseling.  I work with adolescents, adults, families and couples. Please contact me with any additional questions, and I look forward to working with you!
